Firefox is so slow ever since I updated, why is that?

I recently updated to the latest Mozilla and all of a sudden Firefox is running incredibly slow, ungodly slow, almost to the point of unusable. Is there a possible way for this to be fixed either with another updated or will I have to somehow downgrade Mozilla. and if so how do I downgrade.
