My computer crashed and I had a new hard drive installed. Carbonite was able to retrieve only my last 2 to 3 weeks of inbox messages and a few of my outbox messages. Their support team made a shortcut on my desktop that they thought would help but was not allowed to take me any further. I sure would appreciate any help thanks!

Hi Richard123 , What application are you using for these mail messages? The Firefox cache can be read at about:cache, however it may need an add on to read it.

The application, as far as I know is just Mozilla Thunderbird.

Here is what Carbonite left me, saying it was a short cut to help someone who would know how to do it.

C:\Users\Ely\Carbonite Restored OLD User Settings\2015-08-20 12-03-38PM\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\px87cccd.default

when I double click I get a lot of lists of files, like "inbox" "sent" drafts" "archives", etc. for instance, here is one.

Inbox (Date Modified) 12/14/2013 (Type) File (Size) 1,120,461 KB

when I click on that it asks me "Choose the type of program you want to use to open this file: a couple choices are Notepad, Microsoft Office, etc., but no Mozilla Thunderbird. One choice at the bottom is "Browse," but clicking that does not give me a Thunderbird choice.

Am I on the right track? Could those be the missing files? How do I get them into my Thunderbird inbox?

Thanks.
