Firefox Desktop lets you create a QR code for the webpage you're viewing so you can quickly open it on another device or share it with someone else. You can copy or save the QR code image, and no Firefox account is required.

Generate a QR code for a webpage
You can create a QR code for webpages you can normally share.
- Open the webpage you want to share.
- Right-click the tab for that webpage to open the tab menu.
- Select Share, then select Generate QR Code.
A window opens and displays a QR code for the current webpage.
Copy or save the QR code
The QR code window includes two options:
- Copy: Copies the QR code image to your clipboard so you can paste it into an email, message, or document.
- Save: Saves the QR code as a PNG image on your computer. The image also appears in Firefox's Downloads list.
When you're finished, select to dismiss the window.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a Firefox account or to sign in?
No. You can generate a QR code without signing in to a Firefox account. The QR code is created locally on your computer, and Firefox does not upload or store the webpage URL when generating it.
Why is the Generate QR Code option missing or unavailable?
Some pages can't be shared with a QR code. For example, internal Firefox pages (addresses that begin with about:) and a new blank tab don't support this feature.
Does anyone else see the pages I share?
No. Firefox only displays the QR code on your screen. The webpage is shared only if you choose to share the QR code yourself, such as by sending the image in an email, message, or printed document.
