Firefox lets you import your Favorites (called Bookmarks in Firefox), settings and other data from Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer, saving you from having to configure many things yourself. This article gives you step-by-step instructions for getting it done.

Note: This article was written for Windows but generally applies to Mac, when Microsoft Edge is installed. To start the Import process on macOS you can click
in the Firefox menu bar at the top of the screen, click , select Microsoft Edge in the Import Wizard window that opens and then follow the prompts to choose what data to import.To start the Import process and choose what data to import:
- Click the menu button to open the menu panel. Click and then click the bar at the bottom.

- Tip: In Firefox version 76 and above, you can also click the menu button click Help and select from the Help menu to start the Import process.

- Firefox will list the types of settings and information it can import. Select the items you want to import, then click
- Cookies: Small bits of information stored on your computer by some websites that are used to keep you logged in, store your options, or do other things.
- Browsing History: Information on the sites you have visited.
- Saved Passwords: Logins for websites.
- Favorites: Web pages you have saved in your Internet Explorer favorites.

- Your imported favorites from Microsoft Edge or from Internet Explorer will appear as a folder in your Bookmarks Toolbar and Bookmarks menu.
