Firefox lets you import your Favorites (called Bookmarks in Firefox), settings and other data from Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer, saving you from having to configure many things yourself. This article gives you step-by-step instructions for getting it done.
This article only applies to Windows.
Note: If you want to import Favorites from another computer, see Import Internet Explorer Favorites from another computer.
- Click the menu button to open the menu panel. Click and then click the bar at the bottom.
- In the Library window, click
and choose . - In the Import Wizard window that opens, select Microsoft Edge or Microsoft Internet Explorer and then click .
- Firefox will list the types of settings and information it can import. Select the items you want to import, then click
- Cookies: Small bits of information stored on your computer by some websites that are used to keep you logged in, store your options, or do other things.
- Browsing History: Information on the sites you have visited.
- Saved Passwords: Logins for websites.
- Favorites: Web pages you have saved in your Internet Explorer favorites.

- Your imported favorites from Microsoft Edge or from Internet Explorer will appear as a folder in your Bookmarks menu.
