Trying to get JavaScript and adobe flash on my android phone. Can't read or interact.

Adobe has stopped supporting Flash on android 4.1 and higher.

One thing you can try is uninstalling the version of Flash rebooting the tablet. Then install the apk for Flash 11.1.115.27 from http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html#main_Archived_versions it is about 2/3 of the way down the page.
