Managing Search engines: "Ask" is set as default top priority search engine in my plain vanilla instantiation of Firefox Desktop;

Each time I start Firefox I set "Google" using Search Engine Manager by removing "Ask" from the list of search engines.

About 24 hours later Firefox resets the initial default list and re-establishes "Ask" as default.

My question for you: how do I get my preference to stick permanently?
