Check the outgoing server settings: smtp.gmail.com, 465, SSL/TLS, OAuth2, email address. In the Copies & Folders section of Account Settings, uncheck 'Place a copy in' as gmail automatically copies sent messages to Sent Mail, and set drafts as in the attached picture or Drafts on Local Folders.
