Hi David, I do not know what happened but all of a sudden after restarting the computer another layout of Thunderbird came up and then I could easily import the email adresses. The calendar is still empty but that is not a major issue. Thanks for your kind help. Kim

If you have access to the old profile, the addressbook name is abook.sqlite. The tools>import feature can import it.

Hi David, Thks for your kind reply. I have access to the old profile (I found the old emails) but I can not find the file you mention. Another thing .... all my calendar details are also lost. Do you have other suggestions for me to find the data ? Very best regds Kim

If the version of Thunderbird was older, the addressbook would have the name abook.mab and history.mab. Both of those can be imported with Tools>Import.
