migration of data problem after reading all your articles
I recently purchased a new MacBookPro M1 and migrated my apps and data from my 2019 MacBook Air to the new system. My Thunderbird data only migrated emails back to the beginning of the month. To remedy this, I copied the profile folder from the Air and pasted it into the new computer in the appropriate location. Got a message saying there was already a profile folder and did I want to merge the two. I merged them, but still do not have all my emails and archived emails on the new system. How can I rectify this problem?

strange problem. If you start your old computer, do you still see all your mails ?
On my old computer, all of my emails and archives are still there. Everything else, beyond Thunderbird, has migrated completely. Does anyone have any advanced tips since we have followed the instructions in your articles carefully? I use my Thunderbird email as a record of important correspondence. I really don't want to loose it. Thank you for your help! It is most appreciated.
Ah maybe I understand. You have an Imap account that's right ? it would mean that what you see is not something that has be migrated, it's the last 30 days of mail that Thunderbird could display from the Imap server. Can you go to the account properties, Synchronization & Storage, and check that in the Disk Space section the option 'Synchronize all messages locally regardless of age' is checked ? If it is the case, it would get all the old messages on your new computer (maybe not quickly, but it would get in eventually).
About the archives, it's another story as they could be in Local folders and they would have still to be migrated - are they in Local folders on your old computer ? You understand that it would mean that the migration has totally failed for some reason or another, of course.
