Since January 14 2022, my Firefox (and other browsers like Safari & Chrome) can't load certain websites, notably meetup.com and guardian.co.uk.

I've checked with both ISP and Apple support (Macbook Air M1 2020 on Mac OS 12.1). After running tests, both maintain there are no issues with internet connectivity.

I'm aware that Mozilla (as far as Firefox goes) is working on a solution and has offered a workaround. I have tried it and it doesn't work.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Issue seems to be rectified this morning on both MacBook & Android. Mind you, I'm using a VPN setting so I can't say whether that's why it's working.

Dear FredMcD,

Thank you for offering your help!

I enter the URL in the address bar, eg meetup.com, guardian.co.uk, guardian.com. Those are specific websites where problem has been encountered A blank screen appears; The dots to the left of the tab move back-and-forth for what seems an interminable length of time; Then the Connection Has Timed Out message appears.

I have gone to all the links you kindly provided and executed their instructions. The problem persists.

Grateful any further advice!

Regards

Start your Computer in safe mode with network support. Then start Firefox. Try Secure websites. Is the problem still there?

You can check the Web Console (Tools -> Web Developer) for messages about blocked content and about the presence of mixed or unsafe content.

You can check the Network Monitor to see if content is blocked or otherwise fails to load.

If necessary use "Ctrl+F5" or "Ctrl+Shift+R" (Mac: Command+Shift+R) to reload the page and bypass the cache to generate a fresh log.

Have repeatedly tried selecting Options from safe mode menu and subsequently Hard Drive. As a non-digital native, I'm unable to see how to start Firefox

There are lots of messages about blocked content etc. I don't know what to do with this, You can check the Network Monitor to see if content is blocked or otherwise fails to load. If necessary use "Ctrl+F5" or "Ctrl+Shift+R" (Mac: Command+Shift+R) to reload the page and bypass the cache to generate a fresh log.

I have also re-installed the Monterey OS. Problem persists and I'm very frustrated with my inability to resolve. BTW, it's also a problem on my Android Samsung, and not just with Firefox but also with some apps like MeetUp, for example. Is that a clue to what the problem is, that it's both on my Macbook and on my phone???

If the problem occurs on multiple devices, it may be an issue with your router blocking the websites. 1. Disable third-party software like McAfee on your router 2. Check your router settings (most notably one like Firewall and Parental Controls) to see if the listed websites are blocked

If you need help accessing the router webpage, check out https://www.wikihow.com/Access-a-Router

Apologies for the duplicate posts. I mistakenly believed the posts did not get through and did not realize it simply needed mod approval.
