After doing a BIOS update on my HP desktop, it corrupted the Windows 10 OS, and a reinstall was necessary. My original Thunderbird profile was saved, but copying the profile files to the new profile did not work. I have added images in Explorer of the files in both the original and the new Thunderbird. I would very much appreciate any help. Thanks!

Try using the about:profiles link in help -> troubleshooting information to specify what profile is the default profile or to temporarily use a different profile.
