Can't add bookmarks

Hello,

my bookmarks disappeared out of sudden. All bookmarks in the toolbar and the sidebar vanished, completely. Nothing left in the sidebar except the search input field.

Since I could not even import them from a backup I decided to reinstall firefox. Even after reinstall the problem persists. No bookmarks are shown and I can't add any bookmarks.

When I right click for example on the bookmarks toolbar and select "New bookmark ..." a new window appears with only the two buttons "add" and "cancel". No input fields, nothing else.

Very strange behavior. Any ideas?

System: Firefox 45, Windows 7

Ok, Problem solved.

I deleted the following two files places.sqlite and xulstore.json in the profile folder as described here: [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/.../cant-add-change-or-save-bookmarks]

After this I was able to add bookmarks again and to import my old ones.

Ok, Problem solved.

After this I was able to add bookmarks again and to import my old ones.
