Your problem may be that the cookies are already on your PC, so blocking them is useless. Since they're there, they manifest themselves over and over. Try configuring google to remove all cookies- not only block them. Also, try installing the free version of ccleaner- the free version will be sufficent. Once ccleaner is installed, configure for removal of all unwanted data, especially cookies. Installed cookies can be viewed within options menu under cookies- configure to remove all, run program and clean your PC. It's good to keep your PC clean anyway, regardless of the presence of cookies. Hope this helps!

Firefox can create a special Google cookie that is only used for the Safe browsing service. This special Google cookie has appId="-2".

You can use the SQLite Manager extension to inspect the moz_cookies table in the cookies.sqlite database if you want to be sure.
