Hmm, I think the color of text is set by the email website and not by Firefox. Do you want to mention which site it is to see if any volunteers are familiar with whether that's normal or unusual? Also, if you could describe in more detail the steps needed to re-create the problem, that would be helpful.

I am running Mozilla Thunderbird on my Gateway. Windows 8 System. Regarding sending E-mail…When I open a new E-mail and begin to type the receiver’s information….. the font color immediately turns red and remains red the entire time. I took this to mean that perhaps the receiver was not listed in my address book but that is not the case. The receiver is clearly listed. The mail is sent successfully but I wonder about the Red??? Also have a question about incoming E-mail. When I receive a response from someone that has the same Subject title....those responses are stacked one on top of the other…Is there a way for them to be displayed individually on my “Mail received” I very much appreciate your help.
