There used to be a send icon when writing email but now I have to click on "file" and then click on either "Send Now" or "Send Later." This seems to be an unnecessary step. How do I get back the Send icon?

Sounds like your toolbar got turned off. With a Write window open select View-Toolbars and turn the missing toolbar back on.
