Firstly, here are the specs:

FireFox Flame (Alcatel OneTouch) OS: Boot2Gecko 2.0.0.0-prerelease Platform Version: 32.0 Build Identifier: 20141016183911

I had the default OS and Firmware on this device from the time of purchase. I upgraded the firmware and OS from 1.3 to 2.0 since the phone notified me of the release, and proceeded to download through official channels.

Everything seems to be working relatively ok, until I tried to use my mobile hotspot. It seems I am able to connect to the mobile hotspot, but I have no real internet connection. Even the IP address assigned to the connected devices appears to be valid (it's not an internal/self assigned IP address), yet no network activity, I can't browse the internet, apps such as whatsapp and skype on my iPad (using the hotspot for internet) can't connect.

I have restarted the phone multiple times. I've pulled out the battery as well. The only thing I haven't done is a factory reset (which I am just about to do, I will update my post and will update the question accordingly).

Any assistance is appreciated thank you

UPDATE:

Sorry for the multiple posts, but as promised, here is the update after a factory reset. There is no change. Still doesn't connect to the internet. Same as before I can connect to my phone's hotspot, but there is zero network activity. I can't even ping through the terminal.

Hi ccastigl,

I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Firefox OS Flame device after receiving an official update notification to upgrade it to v2.0.

The updates are tested, certified, and released by the Manufacturer - in the case of the Flame device, it's T2M. It's possible that their build of the Firefox OS device has some issues.

Can you please try flashing your device using the Base Image v188 and instructions from the following page?:

Please let us know if this solves your issue, or if you have any questions about your Firefox OS device.

Thanks,

- Ralph
