Using Firefox 8.0 and Windows XP SP3.

If from a web page I select a block of plain text (no graphics, no outlandish formatting like drop caps or the like) and go to File | Print and choose to Print "Selected only" the text prints okay except that only the lower one-eighth (approximately) of the first line is printed. As if the first line started slightly above the top page margin and only the bottom parts of the letters were printed.

I find this when printing to my Brother laserjet and to my HP all-in-one inkjet. The problem is the same when trying different blocks of text from different pages on completely different websites. And exists regardless of how I set page margins for printing.

I do not have this problem when printing the same blocks of text from Windows Explorer. [Not that I ever use it, on principle, but I launched it tonight just to try and compare results.]

I have followed all the steps in the document titled "Firefox prints incorrectly" including editing prefs.js to no avail.

Any other suggestions would be very welcome.

Thank you!

I wonder whether anyone can give me advice on the above problem, thanks. Have upgraded to Firefox 9.
