I have a corrupted OS but I have the HDD, how can I recover my 100's of bookmarks?
I have a corrupted Windows XP OS and I have hundreds of bookmarks I have never backed up. In IE it is a simple folder to copy but I can not find anything like that for FireFox. I have a new PC I built and am now running 64 bit version of Windows 7 Professional and have the old HDD installed to retrieve my data from. I have EVERYTHING I need except for the hundreds of bookmarks that I have categorized in FireFox over the past few years. PLEASE help me retrieve this data. Best regards Tony

I must be missing something in your reply. From what I am reading it says to "Open Firefox and click..." I am unable to open Firefox if I can not boot the OS from the damaged OS HDD. I can access the HDD but I can not boot from the HDD to open FireFox. I understand how to backup and retrieve "IF" FireFox was able to be opened.
What I am looking for is a way to copy a file or folder from my old FireFox profile from the damaged Windows XP OS to the FireFox profile in the new Windows 7 OS. In order to do so I would need to know where these files/folders exists. Best regards Tony
You need to open the old Profile folder thru the Windows Explorer file interface. Sorry, I gave you the path to the Vista / Win7 Profile.
Your old Profile is located here in Win XP and W2K:
drive:\Documents and Settings\Windows login user name\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\profile_name
NICE! Thank you very much! I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Tony
