I'm able to add an e-mail account but when I go to add a second e-mail account, when it looks up the information, it just hangs with the circle going around.

This is true for two different user accounts on the same computer.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled Thunderbird but it didn't help.

Thunderbird can't be exited without killing from the task manager or shutting down.

The new Account Hub has some bugs - try creating the secong account the old way:

- go to TB menu > Settings > General > Account hub > uncheck 'Create accounts in the new Account Hub'

- go to TB menu > New Account > Email

When adding the 2nd e-mail account, the dialog doesn't ask for the password, unlike for the first account. This seems specific to adding e-mail based on ionos.com. I am able to add a g-mail account ok

I'm surprised the default for new TB installations is to use the experimental new account which in my case, fails miserably.
