The operating system is Windows 7. I'm doing a new install of Thunderbird. I had to reset my password with AT&T because I didn't remember what my e-mail password was. I can see my e-mail messages when I log into Yahoo, but when I enter my name, e-mail address, and password into Thunderbird, I get a server error message saying Sending of password for e-mail address did not succeed. Mail server responded: Server error - Please try again later. This is version 68.10.0. I get the same error on version 78.

Are you using the AT&T servers, inbound.att.net and outbound.att.net, or Yahoo servers? If it's the former, you must use a secure mail key instead of the account password.

If they're Yahoo servers, see https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1288812

Thank you so much. I will admit I'm puzzled because it worked without a secure mail key a few days ago with the same software.
