Lost all accounts stored in lockwise
Hello,
Yesterday on my desktop Firefox lockwise lost all the accounts I had saved there. At the same time firefox asked me to relogin to my firefox account. I checked the update history and the last time Firefox updated was on june 5th, so I don't think this was due to some bad update.
What I want to know is why suddenly Firefox on my desktop lost all the accounts? Could it be due to malware? How can I check what's going on? How can I recover the accounts? I feel a bit wary of login in back to firefox sync, since it could delete the information it had synced.
After 10 years of using firefox is the first time this happens. And I know lockwise is a new product. Is it reliable, I am a bit scared, because losing all my accounts information like that is a bit of a headache and a serious problem to resolve.
Firefox 77.0.1 on Windows 10 x64 2004.

I forgot to mention this, but I did not lost the rest of my settings, like bookmarks, and addons. Only lost the accounts in firefox lockwise
Do you possibly have a logins.json.corrupt file in the profile folder in case something was wrong with accessing the file that stores the logins ?
Did you lose any other personal data in the profile folder (bookmarks, history, settings) ?
You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.
- Help -> Troubleshooting Information -> Profile Folder/Directory:
Windows: Open Folder; Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-firefox-stores-user-data

I only see one file named logins<dot>json.

No, my addons, and bookmarks are unchanged. I can't check the history because I deleted it frequently.
Hey, I am still facing this problem. I am guessing there's not a lot that can be done? Is everything just lost? My Firefox settings didn't change, my bookmarks didn't change, and my addons are still there too. Also my history was probably also kept, because I remember auto complete suggesting emails. I had close to 30 accounts on firefox. They just vanished.
I had recently updated to Windows 10 x64 version 2004. I think before my version was 1909. Probably the day before. But the day my logins disappeared, I had already used Firefox, and the logins were still there, because I was able to log on to things. At some point I noticed the passwords were not being suggested, and in the "burger menu" there was a yellow mark asking me to re-login to Firefox sync.
I ran Malwarebytes and windows defender, and they didn't found any issues.
Any suggestions would be welcome. If there is any other places where I can ask for help, or a place where my problem would have more visibility that would be nice too.
Do you see login data stored in logins.json for websites you recognize ?
How many logins are reported at the bottom of the about:protections page ?

The about:protections page doesn't mention any logins. However it says that it has blcoked close to 4 hundred trackers since june 16th. I have Firefox installed long before for months. 16th was also the day I lost all my logins.
The logins.json only has this information: {"nextId":2,"logins":[],"potentiallyVulnerablePasswords":[],"dismissedBreachAlertsByLoginGUID":{},"version":3} Nothing about my logins.
Logins would have been in the "logins":[] array, so you would need an older copy of logins.json that has login data.

So there's nothing that I can do? I do not have an older version of that file. The logins.json has a date of june 18th.
Could this be related to updating to Windows 2004? It seems to do a new Windows install. Although Firefox did work after the update, and all my passwords were there. I updated to 2004 on june 15th.
I can't figure out what has happened.
