How to post messages so that others see them as threaded?
A user with headers indicating "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:52.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/52.4.0" isn't threaded when others read his messages. How may we advise him to configure Thunderbird so that his messages get threaded properly, please? Of course he should update his version to something most recent, but is there some setting he can choose to post his messages so that they will thread with the others?

you might want to ask him what threaded is. I have seen folks who think having the entire thread quoted in the email is threaded.
Other desire a gmail type interface that is supplied by add-ons.
Yet others keep an old message from someone or a list and routinely use it to reply simply removing the visible details, but not modifying the references header to their mail ends up on some topic from years ago because they specifically used an email from the thread.
True threading is done by the receiving mail client, and some folks with ancient copies of outlook make sure it breaks. for some version of outlook it used a Microsoft proprietary threading model that only worked with other outlook clients. So mail from those folks did not thread anywhere but outlook and mail from any other mail client did not thread for them because they were using a different threading model.
I use the most recent Thunderbird 68.3.4. The user in question's posts are never threaded correctly, but appear as new posts in the topic of interest. somewhat obscuring his logical contributions to any given thread.
There are those of us who seek a solution to offer to the user, as his posts are of general technical interest. Many harshly critical responses have been directed to the user, but I seek something constructive to help solve his problem. A search for "Teton Amateur Radio Repeater Association (TARRA) <tarra@wyocat.com>" may help better illustrate the issue.
Thank you for your suggestions.

given threading is based on the references header field, perhaps you need to look at them. For instance using the option to "edit as new" instead of reply or reply-list looses the references header
Likewise there is a "quote" icon that can be added to the compose window when it is customized which will add whatever was viewed last in the way of mail as the "quoted" message in the email being composed. This is a new mail with the content of another essentially pasted in, so of course the references header is not "quoted"

1.I have QuickBooks enterprise. I had my email client as Thunderbird. After my windows 10 update it does not include Thunderbird as a Email client. 2. Another issue is if I have thunderbird as my email default I cannot open hyperlinks in the emails. If I switch to Explorer I can.
I feel a conspiracy here? HAHA HELP
