I was not aware that FTP support had stopped until the minute I needed it to upload my weekly subscription report to my website. Nor did I know that XP support was ending. I think it was irresponsible not to make more of an effort to inform than was made. I have replaced Firefox on my XP computer and will very likely dump it from my two more recent computers.

Firefox 53.0 and later has dropped support of the EOL WinXP and Vista.

You can still use Firefox 52 ESR as the last update will likely be 52.8.0 ESR out in May 2018 and the current is 52.5.0 ESR which came out when 57.0 did.

You can still use the legacy Extensions like FireFTP at https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/fireftp/ on Firefox 52 ESR however the author may likely not be updating it anymore.
