How can I delete an account which appears to have duplicated itself, if only in name but with identical folders and emails, without deleting all my emails?
The two identical names appear under the 'Accounts' heading, i.e "mikepenk@tiscali.co.uk" and, when I click on each one, they contain identical folders and emails. If I were to delete one I believe all my emails will be deleted. I thought of renaming one account and then deleting it, but the programme appears not to let me do that. When I try to rename one, the other is renamed as well.
Any help would be most appreciated

Is it an IMAP-connected account? If so, all your messages are on the server. So you can delete these duplicate accounts and set it up again.
If it's POP-connected then you need to be careful as these may be your only copies of these messages. You could move or copy the messages to Local Folders, then you can again delete and re-instate the broken account.
Hello Zenos
I've solved it this way. Firstly I did a programme backup onto an external drive. I then deleted the accounts from the programme. Next, I uninstalled the programme and immediately reinstalled it again. All my local folders reinstalled themselves and then all I had to do was restore only my account from the backup. The duplication had disappeared.
