Bringing my address book from Live Mail, the categories, phone nos, addresses were under the wrong headings. How can I move them as a group from the wrong category heading (eg telephone number which currently shows under postcode) rather than re-typing them all. Also the headings that show under CONTACTS are not useful (Chat, Fax) and I want Address, Telephone number to show as headings.

Sounds like when you used Tools > Import method to import the address book, you did not map the WLM address book fields to the Thunderbird address books fields. Hence why you have data in the wrong fields.

I would do it again and this time make sure you select and map all the fields you are using. It is so much quicker than manually editing all that data.

RE: the headings that show under CONTACTS are not useful (Chat, Fax) and I want Address, Telephone number to show as headings.

Work: Home: Mobile: All of these refer to Telephone numbers and they are already in the 'Contacts' tab.

Chat and Fax are also there because it is logical to have all telephone numbers in the same location.

Personally, I would like to remove all the telephone numbers to a different tab, as for me, they have nothing to do with Contact (email address) details for an email client, but some people use the address book for more than just as an email client. That's why it is designed to suit a wide range of needs for different people.

Addresses are kept in either 'Private' or 'Work' tab. This is because home or work addresses require a lot more space than a telephone number.
