How can I make Android V35 behave like the V24?
I am using FF on Android, I have been holding up updating since V 24 since all the newer versions will not auto play .mp3s on download with no interaction. I am using this to play the messages on Google voice out of email. How can I make V 35 behave like V 24?

Thanks Roland, I guess all I can ask is that you can make it happen in the next versions, and possibly make a setting if it is a problem for other users to have this feature.
Thanks Bob

Hi robot1962
Are you on Lollipop? We are still trying to fix MP3s not playing on Android Lollipop in FF37 or FF38. It's in this bug:

Wish I could say it was going to be fixed sooner, my apologies.
Cheers!

I am still on Android, 4.1.2 but what V24 would do was download and open an MP3, V25 to 35 would not, and I tried them all, any way to make this happen by editing about:config?
Hi Robot1962
As far as I know MP3s should work fine on Android 4.1.2 in Firefox 35 and 36.
Please:
- Let us know which Android 4.1.2 tablet or phone you are using
- provide the URL of a website with an MP3 that doesn't work for you.
Cheers!

Yes MP3s do work fine in all versions. I think you are missing the point. In version 24 when I get a Google voice message, I just select the link for play message. V24 and all other versions will download the message, but under version 24 it opens the MP3 play and plays the message. In all of your other versions, I have to go to the down load, and select it to play the message. Is there a way to make it play the message like V24 did?
I have a Samsung Note 2. I am playing it out of email, I would need to forward the email to you.
Hi robot1962
Big thanks for the test email message which is super helpful.
I tested this with both Chrome and Firefox 36 on a Note 4 with Android 4.4.4 kitkat and neither played the MP3 Google Voice voicemail file linked from your test email in the browser.
Both Android Chrome and Android Firefox 36 downloaded the MP3 which could then be played by the Android music player.
So it sounds like it's a bug in Google Voice since I see the same behaviour in Chrome for Android and Firefox for Android do you agree?
Cheers!

Thanks Roland, I agree I have not found a browser that will play the message like FF 24. Did you also try it in FF 24? Is there a setting that will make FF 35 play like FF 24?
Thanks again, Bob
hi robot1962
you wrote "Is there a setting that will make FF 35 play like FF 24?"
No there is no such setting unfortunately!
