Thunderbird doesnt open google account to allow sign in with google

i cannot get Gmail configured in Thunderbird. ive deleted it and re tried countless times but is keeps saying wrong credentials. ive followed all the guides and done everything . what is NOT happening , is Thunderbird does not open a browser to sign in with google. why?
