Note that in global Settings, I have already set up the Message Store Type for New accounts to "File per message (maildir)". But I can't create a new local folder account.

2) Thunderbird 128.12.0es does not show the number of selected messages in the Status Bar when I select multiple messages, instead showing the number of selected conversations.
How can I disable conversation mode?
On 140.0 (aarch64) the Insert Link function does not work inserting plain text. Can anyone confirm this issue?

The problem is that 5 of them only update when I right click and update manually but the first 2 update normally when I select "Get Messages".
I've checked each feed and they all seem correct in Properties.
Anyone out there have a suggestion or solution?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I am using MacOS 10.13, Thunderbird 115.15.16ESR: my Hotmail worked until 15 May 2025 and then it would not download new emails. Screenshots are available if you want me to post them. I got an error message: "authentication failure while connecting to server outlook.office365.com". I updated Thunderbird to the latest for my OS: 115.18.0ESR. Still no new emails. I deleted my email account on Thunderbird and tried to reinstate it. Now I get an error message when trying to set up the account: "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password." I tested my password by logging into my Microsoft account with it on my browser. I can also login to my email using Firefox, but I want my Thunderbird email client to work again.
The configuration I am using is: I use my normal hotmail password in the password field. I also set up a new App Password with Microsoft and tried that without success. With the 115.18 update there is a new field: Your login. I just put my hotmail email address in here. incoming: outlook.office365.com, port 993, SSL/TLS, Oauth2 outgoing: smtp.office365.com, port 587, STARTTLS, Oauth2 (I have also tried: smtp-mail.outlook.com)
I enabled 2-step authentication with Microsoft in my Microsoft account more than a year ago. Interestingly, I don't get a prompt on my iPhone Microsoft Authentication App when I select Done when trying to set up the hotmail account on Thunderbird.
Please help. I am desperate, and I have wasted a lot of time on this without success. Cheers

In one of my two e-mail accounts I manage with Thunderbird via IMAP, the archive options (where I would like to configure that the archived messages go into folders organized by year) are greyed out. See attached screenshot. (In the other account, these options are accessible.) The account in question is a google-based work account; is this related to the inaccessibility of the archiving options? Then I needed to recreate all of my group addresses using Thunderbird's tools. I used some of these newly created group addresses a few weeks ago. Now all of the group addresses exist, but they have no members. What could have happened? And, what should I do to recover their contacts?

I am using Thunderbird v128.8.1 esr (64-bit). Extensions installed are: 1. Attachment Saver (Deimios, v.0.2.2) 2. FileLink provider for Send (Teal Dulcet v2.1.1) 3. Remove Duplicate Messages (Eyal Rozenberg v0.6.1)
I have been in communication with this client for several years and not had this problem before. When I send email to the same recipients using WebMail there is no problem, it is only when I send from Thunderbird.
I am not using any encryption type of setup.
Has anyone come across this before? Does anyone know of a solution?

the last time I received an email update on my desktop PC (Win 7 Pro) was 4:08PM (yes, PM) for one account and 4:44AM (yes, AM) for the other account. On my phone, the 4:08PM is the same but the other email account recd an update at 3:17PM.

Hello! My husband making a new company online and we just set up the needed emails with domain connected. Thunderbird was installed on two different laptop and all the 5 email got configured on both laptop. We run several test on all to see if it is going all fine sending and receiving on both laptop In one of the laptop when sending emails from thunderbird to gmail with 4 email out of 5 has a problem and at gmail site ends in spam or in one instant does not even deliver. We run a test program but that showed all fine, however emails keep showing up in spam at gmail site. Where is the problem? At the host? or at Thunderbird or at Gmail? What should be done to fix it?
