Recently I cannot use Paypal to process any online payment on Firefox without the browser crashing.

OS: Windows 11 25H2 Reproduction steps: a vendor would have a Paypal button. I would click on it and Firefox would open a pop-up window briefly before crashing.

The pop-up window is normal behaviour for how Paypal processing has worked on Firefox in the past. I have tried turning off potential content blockers: 3rd-party userscripts loading through ViolentMonkey, content blockers via AdNaseaum, and Enhanced Tracking Protection to no effect.

Hi. I have noticed over the last few weeks, so maybe related to the 155.

If I am on a website with links the browser doesn't respond to many links, in fact no links most of the time.

This only happens usually after the first link has worked. There is no data in the status bar for the link.

If I close the link I have opened, always in a new tab, then other links will then work.

It is as it the details of the URL path are not being recognised, almost like something is saying : Hey you are already looking at this site don't be greedy and expect me to open multiple page with the same domain.

I did see a similar query a while ago but can't find it.

So not a critical problem.

Oh yes. When this happens I also cannot right-click to open in a new tab as an alternative.

When I login to Fidelity site, my username is displayed one letter at a time with noticeable delays. It started about 4 weeks ago. I noticed Remote Procedure Call was active with 4% CPU. I disabled remote access. The issue went away for 3 days, but has resumed today.

Is my FireFox hacked?

I changed browser to Microsoft Edge. The problem went away.

I open a window on chatgpt.com. I clic on "connexion" to connect me. on the new page, I clic in the field used to connect with a mail address. there is the dashlane icon in it. normally, a subwindow opens, showing the differents identifiants I can use, I clic on the one I choose, but now, this subwindow appears AND disapears immediately, it is not possible to clic on it, it is so fast it is not possible to read in it. this is very new, a few days only. I gave the latests versions of dashlane (6.2637) and firefox (155.0.1). the last version od dashlane was installed the 3 od september, and it has well worked after. Nota : I have also a smaller problem with webmail (of free), the identifiant field is well done, but not the password field.

I signed into my Firefox on a new computer, but for some reason my widgets are gone. I have checked my settings, and the box "Allow Firefox to improve features, performance, and stability between updates" is checked off. My old computer still has the widgets, so it's not like I turned it off. Any ideas?

Using last Windows 10 install, and 153 esr.

Manually entering an address in the address bar sends it to search.

The advice from 2020 found with a search online, and in Mozilla Firefox support, does not solve the problem.

Not only is it a time-wasting obstruction for a new page to open and put the address at the top, it is a problem that the address bar can not be used as intended for manually entered addresses.

I'm guessing the problem is also responsible for the problem of clicking on a link in a program not opening it in firefox in Firefox. I have two programs setup, correctly, to open Firefox or go to the open browser when I click a link. I get a return in both cases that the browser may not be installed correctly.

I installed the browser as usual. Currently: 153.2.0esr I had 153.1 installed, however there was an unrelated (presumably) Microsoft problem and I had to restore. 153.1.0esr disappeared from my computer and online. So I downloaded 153.2.0est. However, both of these problems have manifested since updating to 153:

• Address bar does not function properly when adding a manual address.
• Clicking on a link in a program no longer opens the link in Firefox

I downloaded the full install program, as usual, and installed on top of the current install so my established profile is used. There are no major changes - except when features have become dysfunctional.

Searches online and at Mozilla support make clear these are current Mozilla Firefox issues. I can find no mention of either problem in Mozilla support.

Is there a solution to either or both of these problems in 2026?

p.s. I have no intention of upgrading to Windows 11. I also have updates disabled, however that did not stop microsoft from surreptitiously installing Snapshots and a personal A.I. app (evidence of which is in the registry which I deleted). The computer was lagging and glitching and running the disc almost constantly. So I went looking for what Microsoft had done - again - without my knowledge or opportunity to consent (or not) and found the culprits. I also found entries in Explorer directory for both features and deleted them.

My spell check generally doesn't work, but occasionally comes back to life, I have tried the about config, and change value to 2, I have tried uploading dictionary, and making sure check as I type is ticked, but the setting on config seems to keep reverting to 1, and I'm sure if I have successfully uploaded a dictionary, I clicked on language pack, Ironically while I'm typing this, my spell check is actively involved.

I've never had Secure Connection Failed warnings before, but now I am getting them often. I don't want to stop using Firefox, but it seems I can get to these sites via other browsers.

Recently when i go to a new url in Firefox, it often takes me to the very bottom of the page right after it loads. For example, it just happened on fidelity.com. I haven't changed any app settings, but there have been app updates. Can anyone help?

Installed Firefox on new laptop that has MS Edge, but Firefox is default browser. Downloaded and installed Norton Password Manager to both browsers - no problems with Edge install. Extension downloaded to Firefox, but when trying to log-in to Norton account, Firefox returns error message: Norton Password Manager Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again. Suggestions?

DOES NOT actually turn on the VPN after a browser restart.

The VPN after a restart looks like it is 'ON' - the icon on the toolbar has a green tick, and when I go to click the actual VPN icon itself the VPN says it is 'ON', but when I go to a website where I use the VPN to bypass a age restriction law (like Reddit), the VPN is not working.

I need to re-turn the VPN off and then re-turn the VPN back on again for the VPN to actually work. 

Is there something I'm missing? I want the built-in, free VPN to auto start by default when I launch my Firefox browser.

last time my firefox crashed when i was using it and when i reopened my browser all of my history were deleted and they keep telling me that some sort of file is not able to save the bookmarks and history

I am getting a new Laptop, also a DELL as is this PC, both will be using Windows 11. I did this with the last HP laptop. I somehow installed Firefox on that old one automatically. Please give a list of the method to easily do this on the new machine. It seemed to look at the Firefox running on the PC and got all the data it needed to install on the new Laptop. I tried and tried for months and months. As IT consultants our biggest headache WAS Firefox. One thing after another after we upgraded the client's legacy machines to Win 10. One thing after another -- all day long ! Under Win 10 we have the Tab Crash Plague, the Video Freeze Plague and the cluelessness of Firefox 'support'. I deleted our support account so I am using the business Email account for this. EVERY NEW RELEASE IS A SUBSET OF NEW PROBLEMS. like Microsoft, new releases blow up in you face -- or breach your privacy with malice aforethought.

What I found most interesting is the impending failure of the Mozilla organization that never properly supported Firefox or vetted new releases. Now I see paid services (useless VPN) that are being trotted out to save the organization. It's not going to work -- it never has that I have seen anywhere. "Yeah, we suck -- but buy this other stuff from us !".

Mozilla is in the process of failing. The 2-million mark for users will prompt developers to abandon Firefox compatibility. It's moving in that direction rather nicely. I have more IT experience than anyone your organization employs -- that's why some state agencies and businesses won't let me retire and I consult year round part time. NP -- they pay anything I charge. I have seen it all -- especially failing software organizations. Mozilla will end up absorbed by Google and become one of the great Privacy Busters. Resorted to privacy busting because the core business failed -- have we ever seen that before ? I know how read to packet streams on the network packet analyzer (brand name suppressed) and I can watch privacy busting in real time. YOU PEOPLE have already sold your souls to Google. After that happens, I abandon any such organization -- as we have with Firefox.

I hope you people know Mozilla is already making noises about a buyer -- likely Google. How do I know that ? I know people you don't -- including an FTC executive who happens to be my brother.

One of the more INTENTIONAL business failures I have ever seen -- done right in the faces of those complaining and encouraging more user centricity. Over the years I saw all that ignored -- EVEN AS FIREFOX'S MARKET SHARE CRASHED TO IRRELEVANCE.

My business morals would have had me walk away from your organization years ago -- because it was obvious where things were headed. Now we see the hangers-on staying with the organization, hoping for a return to the Glory Days.

This private consultancy has completed the abandonment of Firefox, as of yesterday. Privacy was the reason we adopted Firefox years ago -- free and committed to privacy. Don't be so ignorant as to think we didn't notice Mozilla selling users out to Google. We almost abandoned your organization back then.

As for the volunteers Mozilla exploits to avoid any expenses related to user problems -- it's over. Get out. Delete your affiliation from professional synopses and CV. The 'support engineer' title you are so fond of has been devalued to ZERO. I NEVER ONCE hired anyone from a failed organization -- they gotta be Winners and Go-getters. Get out any retain any vestiges or shards of credibility that remain.

Previously, when I clicked on the Firefox profile icon, it showed all 4 profiles at once. Now it only shows 3 initially, and to access the 4th one I have to click "All Profiles" and then select the specific profile. Is there a way to make it show all 4 profiles together again, like before?
