I know there are Tablets & smartphones that use Firefox OS, but are there (or will there be) any media players (ie iPod-type) devices that use it? I'm asking because even though there iPod alternatives for the other series of iPod models (classic, Nano, shuffle), there are no alternatives to the iPod Touch.

hello, at the moment mozilla itself is focusing its efforts with firefox os totally on smartphones - however due to the open nature of the operating system, third-parties are free to use it for other purposes (like smart-tvs based on firefox os announced from panasonic, desktop like systems, etc.).

There seems to be no plans for that this moment. You can however submit feedback here which are read then forwarded off to engineers and developers.
