Ever since I both updated Firefox to version 59.0.2 and the MacOS to version 10.13.4 all of my many bookmarks set prior to the updates are no longer internally referenced--meaning that opening a saved bookmark doesn't open as I'd saved it, instead Firefox searches the internet and finds that version, scraping my title edits. Firefox also no longer recognizes my saved bookmark and wants to save the newly opened bookmark as a brand new entity, destroying carefully designed folder filing.

I thought the problem might've been a change in how the address bar and the search bar are configured--prior I'd not opted for a search bar and used the address bar only for writing specific URLs; I changed to the the split option, but this hasn't made a difference.

I have tens of thousands of bookmarks in carefully designed and constantly updated folders that no longer function as sole/master bookmarks. How to I recover this functionality.

NB: In a possibly related issue when I search the finder on my Mac it also no longer remembers date when last used for most older files.

Hi, please try a Refresh but Note that this does more than uninstalling and re-installing does. Normal uninstalling does not remove some preferences which may have become corrupt. Please Refresh but do this 1st: Delete your Cookies and Cache and TEST.

then

TEST....... If no issues then Extensions which need to be added back in 1 at a time and tested ..... Or it is your Profile : Make a new one and test ...:

If is your Profile :

Note: Any customization will revert back to default, you will also need to reinstall Extensions.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
