I would like to migrate my T-Bird contacts to my iPhone 4. I have been unable to find any entries in help for this. Lots of stuff about gmail but I don't use gmail. Is it possible or necessary to install T-Bird on an iPhone is it necessary to have it on the iPhone?

Advisory: I don't buy Apple.

What routes are open to you to import data to the iPhone? SD card? Bluetooth? Wifi? Sync to internet resources?

The first three assume that each each end of the connection can talk to the other and they have a mutually compatible data exchange format. For Thunderbird, I can say it offers LDIF, vcf files (vCards) and CSV files. I don't know if any of these will be useful to you. And these connection methods usually assume some "synch program" to run on the pc end to talk to the mail client and the portable device. Sadly, few of these utilities recognize Thunderbird as a valid email/contacts application.

Synching to a cloud-based resource is generally the cleanest way to go. Google is by far the most widely available and most popular and add-ons are offered to sync to Google Contacts. I don't know what other services might be supported.
