I am experiencing a severe issue with the macOS system print dialog handling in Thunderbird, which started immediately after updating to version 152.

Environment

   * OS: macOS Tahoe 15.5.1 (26.5.1)
   * Hardware: Apple M4 (Silicon)
   * Thunderbird Version: 152 (Issue present) / 151 (Works perfectly)

Description of the problem: When I use the native macOS system print dialog within Thunderbird and select either "Open in Preview", Instead of opening the Preview app Thunderbird bypasses the command and immediately sends the document directly to the default physical printer. The same happens with "Save as PDF", the file-saving dialog is first presented, but after entering the filename the document is also sends to the default physical printer rather than being saved.

Steps to reproduce:

  * Open an email in Thunderbird v152.
  * Select Print...
  * in the Print Dialog window, select "Print using the system dialog" 
  * The system print dialog is opened
  * Click the PDF dropdown and select "Open in Preview" or "Save as PDF".
  Result: The document is instantly printed on the physical printer instead of performing the macOS system action.

Steps taken:

  * Tested with Thunderbird v151: The macOS system print dialog works perfectly as intended.
  * Upgraded to v152: The issue appears immediately and consistently.
  * All other applications (Safari, Chrome, Microsoft products, Apple Mail) work correctly 

This seems to be a serious regression in how Thunderbird v152 handles native macOS print system events and dialog actions on Apple Silicon / macOS Tahoe.

Any help or a fix for this would be greatly appreciated.

Why are many calendar events just disappearing? This has been happening for the last three months!! Calendar events were there yesterday, are gone today! I tried in protected mode and lost even more events. Now even more are missing. Several I have re-input over the last months, and they get gone too. What’s going on!! There are no addons, no sync. Nothing but Thunderbird. any one else having this bug?? What file are events stored in and how do I read them?? Any way to recover anyof these?? There is a lot of information and annotations, such as cancellations and rescheduleing and the whole bunch just disappeared? Many older events are still intact but I sure don't know for how long!!! My profile is on a separate drive and is accesed by both W10 and 11 for email and calendar. No problems except they are missing using either system!! It's a bug!! Anyone interested in looking at it?? Typing Ctrl-C does nothing, Ctrl-X deletes whatever is selected, but it does not end up in the clipboard. In fact, if the clipboard contains something, it will be removed (Win-V still shows it, but it can no longer be pasted). When copying from somewhere else, pasting with Ctrl-V works.

AFAICT, no issues with any other programs.

Latest versions of FF (151.0.2) and Thunderbird (151.0.1), on Windows 10.

What could be wrong?

Hi, For at least two weeks, Thunderbird has been stalling, not responding, and crashing (but not the type that sends a crash report). Every time it begins downloading messages, it stalls. I compacted folders, checked what your forums recommend, and still nothing. I have Thunderbird on a Win10 XPS laptop and a Win11 Dell desktop, new and full of specs. Uninstalled it and reinstalled it. Same. There has to be a bug in the new version, my guess, since it was working perfectly until the latest update. See images from my Win10 laptop right now. Please advice!!! I am at wits' end since I need Thunderbird to do my emailing!!! Or else I will have to find another email handler.

On my PC - Initial problem was T-bird took forever to load and virtually all new msgs went to TRASH and I had to move to IN-Box. Per help from David - Saved off profile, and reinstalled thunderbird from thunderbird.net. No change. Then UNINSTALLED T-Bird (profile still intact). Now just attempts to open "Looking up imap.comcast.net", but won't open/connect and to close the app I must use WIN Task Master. Can't get to any msgs, etc. Also, in the past when I was able to open, the banner or bar at the top of the page had hundreds of email icons. I sometime have over 1000 emails in my in-box!! I have years worth of emails in folders on T-Bird which I don't want to loose. Help. Thank you. I have a "working" version (with the "trash" and slow loading issue per above) on my laptop, so I can access suggestions on that version of T-Bird. You could also send any suggestions to x@gmail.com

My emails were all working (accounts were setup fine). Then, recently, when I opened Thunderbird, the main area (where my messages are displayed) is empty. If I choose another folder, still empty. BUT, the folders all say that there are messages in them (see the attached screenshot)

I have tried the following... 1. Opening Thunderbird in Troublshooting mode: This works, and the messages appear. But I don't want to have to open troubleshooting mode every time. 2. I have ZERO extensions installed, so asking to disable them obviously wont do anything. 3. I have tried to repair the folders (I have tried to repair the default inbox folder, and then tried to repair them all ... nothing worked). 4. I have backed up my thunderbird files, and tried reinstalling Thunderbird. Still didn't work. 5. I have a few accounts in TB, and it does this for all of them, but at seemingly random times.

Everything seems to work, it's just annoying to have these messages pop up.

I have 0.9Tb free space on the disk, so I don't think it's a lack of space! I also have admin rights to the file system, so that's not it either.

Anyone any idea why I get this? Thanks
