Never really bothered asking. But now i think it's time. Why is it, that Firefox, never, ever, remembers it window size or position?

1. I use Firefox exclusively in fullscreen. Every time, after i've started my pc and launched Firefox, it never starts fullscreen.

2. I use Firefox in windowed mode, i resize and place it where i want it to be. Every time, after i've started my pc and launched Firefox, it never remembers it's size nor position on the desktop.

I do not understand why that's a thing.

Pc's: multiple win11 machines.

I'm getting the 'Firefox is already running, but is not responding. The old Firefox process must be closed to open a new window' message. I've gone to the task manager and end tasks. Then try to delete parent.lock in Firefox profiles in appdata. Then I get this message... The action can't be completed because the file is open in Firefox. Can you please help me with this problem.

I have updated to version 139 and now the latest (142) manually. When I go to About > Firefox, I got error: Firefox is being updated by another instance

I am the only user logged in. There isn't any other instance. There are no other profiles.

Any ideas or is this a bug? Thanks.

why does Firefox keep forgetting the "Ask to save passwords" tick? Every time my machine goes down due to the power grid I have to go back in to setings to tick the "Ask to save passwords" checkbox again.

I’ve run into an issue that’s getting a bit frustrating, and I’m hoping someone here might be able to help. Whenever I use AI chatbots (like ChatGPT or similar) and then close my browser, I find that I have to log in all over again the next time I open it. This happens every single time I restart the browser, and it's starting to disrupt my workflow. I’ve already checked my Firefox settings — things like cookie behavior and privacy options — but I still can’t seem to get the sessions to persist. I’m not using private browsing, and I haven’t set it to clear history or cookies on exit (at least as far as I can tell). Could this be related to a specific setting I’ve missed, or is it just how Firefox handles session data for these kinds of sites? Any tips or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Been using FF on this machine for 5+ years, always printed OK. Desktop Computer, info below is correct. Using FF 142.0.1 (64-bit). Pop Up print window does not appear when clicking on Print Icon in AOL. Checked FF Settings, Pop Up windows are not blocked. Help

Greetings, On cargurus website for example there are many filters which contain multiple checkboxes each. If I scroll down to a section and select a checkbox, the results refresh and takes me back to the top of the page. The problem is that sometimes I want to select more than one checkbox in a filter or choose checkboxes in the next filter to select a checkbox. When I search for cars I may end up selecting more than 10 filter checkboxes to get the results I want. If I have to scroll back down to where I left off each time, it takes a lot of time to run a query. This jumping to the top does not happen using Chrome, so there must be something in firefox that can be adjusted but I cannot find it. I only used Cargurus as an example, but it happens on all sites with checkboxes. Keep in mind I am not a programmer so I don't know how to add code to websites or firefox settings. I recently sent my PC to the Geek Squad to fix my laptop. They downloaded the hard drive's contents onto a USB and did a full reset of the PC. I have it back now and the first thing I want to do is restore my tabs, history, bookmarks, etc. on Firefox. I tried following the Mozilla's recovery guide but it doesn't work. The only things I got back were my browser extensions. I'm not sure if I did it right. I'm kind of at a loss.

For some reason all of a sudden my bookmarks don't show their identification icons that are associated with that web site. Those icons are to the immediate left of the site address. I used to use those colored icons as a quick reference to select the web site I wanted. Being I have MANY bookmarks, those icons to the left weer a GREAT help to locating a specific bookmark.

   How do I get my bookmarks to show the way they used to show before? Is there a way to show my bookmarks to a earlier date? Maybe that way my bookmarks will show the way they used to ?
   Can someone please help. This new bookmark menu listing I now see is not user friendly! Thank you.

Is there a way to change the size of the sections in Firefox? For instance, I don't need so much space for the listings of Inbox, Sent etc. or the Tabs but would like to have more space for the web pages themselves. I ask because I've got a sight impediment and have to increase the text size. This means that the web "window" (Sorry, don't know the correct terminology) is so big that I have to scroll down to see it.

Gmail is no longer recognizing MFA via USB Titan key while using Firefox. Issue started today, after the latest Firefox update. Prior to updating Firefox, I had no issues signing into gmail with USB Titan key MFA.

When I attempt to sign into my gmail account, I enter my email and password, then I am redirected to the MFA screen where Firefox prompts me to touch my USB Titan security key. After touching the Titan key, gmail says it can't verify my identity and I'm therefore unable to sign into my gmail account.

I tried clearing cache and cookies in Firefox. I also tried a private Firefox window.

My Titan key works. I successfully used it to sign into my Lastpass account in Firefox without issue. I was also able to sign into my gmail account with Titan key MFA using a different browser. This problem is only happening to gmail in Firefox.

SInce early August the cache2/entries folder in my drive C:/Users/../AppData/Local/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/yaddayadda folder has been filling up with junk files with long hex hash names .. up to 146,000(+) files amounting to 57GB(+) each day. It's tedious to delete them manually. Can't Firefox delete like it used to?

Firefox is running so slow since I had to get windows 11, I checked as it said somewhere for Mozilla in program files or program files 86. It is in both, but not as the browser. Should it be like that? or which do i uninstall? I'm so aggravated can't even think straight anymore

Was using Windows 10 Pro with Firefox. Had no issues. On 8/23 I upgraded to Windows 11 Pro and the issue started. Under Windows 10 , clearing the cache and cookies , both from within Firefox and using CCleaner went quickly. After upgrading to Windows 11 , both are slow as molasses , not measured in seconds , but minutes (often 10 or more). Uninstalling and reinstalling made no difference. CHKDSK has been run - no issues found.

Any clues?

i switched the download folder to the "desktop",but still it saves whatever i download in the "default" folder of downloads....even when i checked that it actually in the settings says it was changed....im using Firefox142.0.1 (64-bit)

my pc os updated to win 11, browser keeps asking to set firefox as default I have done this several times; in win11 app setting screen; so is it a bug in browser or in win 11, I will hit the ignore option. This is a FYI to Mozilla team. Artwin Sturnacle, asturnacle@msn.com
