Hi oa3s96,
You could try this to restore your default setting :
- Click the 3-bar menu
- Click Customize...
- On the bottom right of your screen, click Restore Defaults
You can always customize the look of your Firefox browser by dragging and dropping your favorite items, or in this case moving "go back" and "go forward" to the correct position on the toolbar!

Hope this helps
You should be able to resolve this issue by going to the customize menu. Everything is explained here: Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars.
What Windows locale do you use? Are you using a RTL (right-to-left) Windows locale?
Maybe check some intl prefs on the about:config page:
- intl.regional_prefs.use_os_locales
- intl.uidirection
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.
