Title says it all really folks. Facebook constantly crashes Firefox since update 46 I think it is. I have cleaned out literally everything Firefox related, caches, cookies, history, everything, and hunted down remnant folders the uninstaller leaves behind and removing them (crap uninstaller - somebody sort it out) and even completely uninstalled Flash Player in case that POS was causing the crashing (it isn't) I don't even run many plugins, Flash, Adblock, and thats about it other plugins are disabled. Yet STILL Firefox crashes with Facebook and its becoming more than a irritation now. Not that it should make a difference, but FF is installed on a system running Win10 Pro x64.

I stopped using Waterfox about a year ago because of the turd it became am I going to have to ditch Firefox as well? I'd rather not abandon FF but if this constant nosedive in reliability \ stability continues, drop it like a stone I shall and I'll stop installing FF on all of the systems I build and repair as well.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

While still in Safe Mode,

In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP in front of the numbers/letters, click it to submit them.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

Using your mouse, mark the most resent 7 - 10 crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box below and paste them in.

Hi,

For some reason Firefox says it doesn't have any crash reports when starting it in safe mode even though FF last crashed last night - on FB of course. So those reports will have to wait until the next time FF crashes, the crashing seems to repeatedly be caused by a google script of sorts after a little digging if thats of any help. Thus far today FB hasn't crashed as of yet in FF so we'll see how things go for the day with FB open in a tab.

Are we talking about Firefox, or Thunderbird?

@ ketxxx You say it is a google script, if Facebook with you works while your add-ons are disabled (in save mode). It could be caused by the google analytics tracker. Facebook needs to be able to use cookies, so if your add-ons disable those (including the ones from Google it uses to track you), Facebook may stop working al together. If it works properly in save mode, I would advice you to check you add-ons settings and add Facebook to your whitelist.

If that does not solve the problem then I am not sure if I can help you.

I also have problems using Facebook on Firefox (not loading and functioning correctly). Do you have the same problem that Facebook is not shown properly (flaws in reading the stylesheet? And pop-ups asking you to download php files?

Hi all,

@ Fred, We are talking Firefox, not Thunderbird.

@ Laura, No I do not have any pop-ups asking me to download php files. FB didn't crash Firefox yesterday but it did cause FF to become extremely laggy in all tabs so I had to close FF and relaunch it. I don't know if it has anything to do with preventing FF from outright crashing with FB but I decided yesterday I would completely remove Flash and the folder it leaves behind after the uninstall and then reinstalled Flash just in case something was rotten there so maybe that helped a bit, but certainly has not fixed things.
