Website won't go away after closing the tab AND restarting Firefox.

I went to a website to watch a video, and when I was finished I closed the tab the website was on. When I was finished on my computer I shut down Firefox. Upon reopening Firefox later it restored the page. I do not know why it's doing this, and I cannot seem to get it to go away. I have cleared all my cookies/cache, etc. as well as doing a virus scan and nothing can tell me why this is happening. It's quite annoying, and I would like my browser to function properly. I have recently updated to the latest version of Firefox so everything is up-to-date. I'll take any suggestions anyone can throw at me because I am fresh out of ideas.

Thanks in advance.

This happens in Safe Mode?

Try just restore your home page:

Other way, go to about:config, search for browser.startup.homepagechange its value to:

about:home - default page
about:blank - a blank page
url - a page that you want

It's not the homepage that's doing it. It will load the homepage, and in a separate tab load this offending page. i should have been more clear, sorry.

As for safe mode, I will try this and see what happens. Thank you.

Just to update: i actually had done a reset of firefox, but it didn't work. For the life of me i cannot recall what I was looking at, but I saw a directory of different pages/cookies that were saved. Turns out that somehow the page in question had been set as a homepage even though my originally specified homepage was loading along with the "faulty" one. Not sure how or why they were both identified as the homepage, but I just reset it and it's back to normal. I think that in conjunction with the clearing of my data and a rest of firefox helped clear it up so it was all worth doing. thank you for the help =]
