cannot receive gmail when using my AOL mailbox

I correspond with several people who use gmail accounts. I can email to them and have confirmed that they receive my messages. When they attempt to respond I do not receive their messages. They receive a message stating that I am only accepting email from specific addresses. I do not have any of these people blocked and they are all on my contact list.
