After updating to new version of Firefox, my paid for RoboForm will not work. What should I do? I MUST have it working. Thanks Jane
Yesterday I downloaded the new version of Firefox as suggested by you. Then my paid for version of RoboForm , which always has worked, would not work. I MUST have it working. What can I do now to solve this crucial problem? PLEASE send detailed info so I can follow exactly. Thanks, Jane P.

You need version 7 of RoboForm for Firefox 4. Version 6 will only work with Firefox 3.6.* or earlier.
If you have version 6 this may be viewed as a method to generate income by Roboform in forcing users to update to version 7 and not offering updates to version 6 to make it compatible.
An alternative free password manager that works with Firefox 4 is Lastpass - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/lastpass-password-manager
If you have version 6 of Roboform and need to use it you will have to downgrade to Firefox 3.6
To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.

The main question is rather which program is causing the problem. From my standpoint it appears the FF4 is the culprit, not RF. FF has total control whether or not it will operate with RoboForm 6.x. What would the reason be for this problem? A contract between Mozilla and Siber Systems? Or just a simple goof that will be handled in a future version? I'm ready to toss them both out if something better can't be worked out.
The statement that RoboForm is "forcing users to upgrade to version 7" is silly. Firefox is also in full control of whether these 2 programs work together. Perhaps the introduction of the Roboform add-on is involved in this whole development flop. Personally, I would be happy to pay an upgrade fee if compatibility were the only issue. It isn't. Even if you think FF4 is great, the new RF7 will gag anyone who has been using 6.x for years.

After using Roboform for about 9 years, their seemingly making RF 6 incompatible with the New Firefox 4 really sucks. Making RF 7 payable on a regular basis, especially in this economic environment is understandable from their point of view, but is horrible, especially for people on a fixed (namely SS) income. Will force me to look for another alternative, - a real time waster. Looks like everything in the USA is going down the tube.
I agree. I finally disabled the update firefox option so I wouldn't be bugged all the time. I'm happy with my older version which works with Roboform (couldn't live without that,) and I also use IE latest version with Roboform also. Firefox can email me when they get this issue fixed. Until then, they can keep their updates! Not interested!
I suggest you disable "automatic updates" in options, so you don't get bugged, and make Firefox email you when they get a new version compatible with Roboform. I am using the 3.6 version now and am happy as a clam! If it aint broke, don't fix it!!
