Remove FF icon

Skrevet

A few weeks ago, when FF updated to 72, there was a FF icon that doubled the size of the menu box. I found a few suggestions by Googling, and managed to delete the icon, but can't restore the box to its original size, and the larger box affects my browsing. How do I resize the box?

Adblock Plus, HTTP Everywhere, McAfee Web Advisor. These are add-ons, which I assume are the same as plugins. If not, I have no idea of what a plugin is.

Thank you, Cor-el. No camera, so no photo. The box with the address bar, other assorted icons (home, history, editing commands, etc.) in it. When it occurred, I found instructions that didn't really work, but the icon had a delete option when I right-clicked it, and it was gone, but the over-sized box was still there. I hope this helps explain it.

Hello mnosera,

In your system details you say :

" These are add-ons, which I assume are the same as plugins. If not, I have no idea of what a plugin is. "

"Add-ons" is the collective name for "extensions" and "plugins".

The difference between those two is explained here :

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Browser_extension

Plugins:

http://kb.mozillazine.org/Category:Plugins

Extensions :

https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Add-ons/WebExtensions/What_are_WebExtensions

When you open Firefox menu (3-bar menu or Tools) => Add-ons, you will see on the left side (among other items) "Extensions" and "Plugins" - click on them and you will see the difference there,

There is only one plugin possible in current Firefox releases and that is the Shockwave Flash plugin.

No camera, so no photo.

You don't need a camera to take a screenshot - just click on the article that cor-el linked to; scroll down to "Create a screenshot on Windows" and follow the instructions. It's not difficult at all, you'll see.

You do not need a camera to take a screenshot.

To take a screenshot of the browser (web page) area you can use "Take a Screenshot" in the three dot page actions menu that you can find at the at the right end of the location bar.

If this is about an icon in the user interface then you can use builtin OS means to take the screenshot (Windows keyboard: Alt + PrtScr; print screen).

These are the three plugins I see in Addons => Plugins :

1) OpenH264 Video Codec provided by Cisco Systems, Inc.

2) Shockwave Flash

3) Widevine Content Decryption Module provided by Google Inc.

But this has nothing to do with your problem .......

You say that the problem is solved; it would be nice if you would let us know what exactly the problem was and how you solved it ..... (?)

I'm really curious .....
