Hi there, A week later and still not solution to why version 44.0 does not work / should I just uninstall Firefox altogether and move on ? I have Windows7 / All my desktop links work via Firefox. Once I open my weather link, from there I open a new tab on wards to Google. Quite annoying at this point. Firefox straight up does not load. unless this issue is resolved soon, will uninstall Firefox altogether.
My wife liked the ease of access , when she went online, but at this point , she needs to take a few extra steps to access Google. Hurry guys, its becoming annoying, seriously.. .

You have not posted any other question. Are you saying that you can't load any Google pages?
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?
I found a solution on how to make it easier,right click on the Firefox icon on the taskbar, small window pops up, then left click on ‘ open new widow ‘ and whammo ! Google page comes up, But when I left click on the Firefox icon on my taskbar , Google does not load., it keeps on connecting forever , nothing loads. The desktop icons work fine and from there I can open a new tab to any other page including Google.

Have you tried Refreshing Firefox to make sure it's not an issue with a bad or old add-on? 99% of the time, that fixes Firefox. Give it a try.
Here is the procedure. Please come back after you've done it: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings
Also make sure to disable your firewall or anti-virus to see if for some odd reason those third party apps are causing this malfunction. But before disabling your anti-virus, make sure it's up to date and also run a quick scan to make sure you don't have a virus on your PC.
Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

Hi,
This is gfys2's daughter typing at the moment.
Since updating to 44.0: - when Firefox is opened, the start page (google) doesn't load. It says "Connecting..." in the the tab name. Then if I close it, I get a crash popup. - It sometimes crashes on startup too. - If I change the start page to the default Mozilla start page, it opens ok, start page loads ok. But if I close it, it crashes
I have a dump file if it helps (200 mb)
- uninstall/reinstall Firefox: same problem - uninstall add-ons: same problem - Start Firefox in Safe Mode: same problem - disable Microsoft Security Essentials: same problem - disable firewall: same problem - Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware: scanned ok
v43.0.4 is good, no crashes here. Start page is ok

As a test, disable the protection programs
Some problems occurs when your Internet security program was set to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow Firefox to connect to the Internet again;
- Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
- Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see
Configure firewalls so that Firefox can access the Internet. {web link}
Install an older version of Firefox {web link}
What you posted above (/questions/1107827#answer-840924) is information about the computer that is attached to the crash report and doesn't include the crash ID and data about the crash. The crashes are caused by Norton software, possibly Norton Confidential or Norton Identity as can be seen by the presence of coFFPlgn.dll or couictlr.dll in the crash signature or the crash report.
If you have submitted crash reports then please post the IDs of one or more recent crash reports that start with "bp-":
- bp-xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx
You can find the report ID of recent crash reports on the "Help > Troubleshooting Information" page (about:support).
- click the "All Crash Reports" button on this page to open the about:crashes page and see all crash reports.
Alternatively you can open about:crashes via the location/address bar.

there has been a security update to the flash plugin the last days, so you might want to make sure that you're up to date there as well: https://www.mozilla.org/plugincheck/
in regards to login problems on third-party websites we probably aren't going to be able to help you with that unfortunately.
