I just updated to 40.0.3 and my bookmarks still do not work help!!!!!!!

I have a windows 10 pc and my bookmarks do not work in anyway! I just updated to windows 40.0.3 and they still are not working. I have tried all the fixes that I have found and none of them have helped. I even uninstalled firefox and did a complete wipe of anything firefox from my pc and reinstalled everything and still no go.

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file (bookmarks, history) in the Firefox profile folder.

I have a brand new Max using 10.10.4 to which I downloaded 40.0.3. Bookmarks do not work. So, I have a Macbook Air using OS 10.9.1 onto which I downloaded 40.0.3 and bookmarks do not work. I have an old Macbook running 10.7 onto which I downloaded 40.0.3 and bookmarks do not work. It would appear that the new version does not like bookmarking on Macs. And the answer is definitely not to ask the guy who has the problem to start tinkering with places.sqlite on his machine. The answer is to sort out what is wrong with the latest version of Firefox.
