Hello Ann, it happens firefox to become slow after a long time, a good option is to create a new fresh profile. The easy way to do that is to Refresh Firefox. Please read carefully the previous links and if you need anything else just ask. :-)

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options) key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?
