On Ubuntu 14.04, Firefox Sync doesn't recognize my account, which is active on another device.

I'm trying to add a new computer to my Firefox Sync account, without success. When I try to sign on this new computer, the system rejects it me as an unknown account. This is an error, as I am logged in into Firefox Sync on another device and I can sync between that second device and a third one without problem, like I always did. Also, when, on this new computer, I click on "Forgot your password?" option, it does absolutely nothing. The whole problem persists even if I turn off the other machines and allow the system time to refresh.

I'm a big fan of Firefox Sync and normally have a breeze syncing bookmarks, history etc. across all my devices. I hope someone can solve this frustrating problem, as it would be devastating to have to go back to non-synced work sessions. Any help is much appreciated!

Are your 2nd and 3rd devices running Firefox 29 or higher? If not, they will need to be updated and your Sync account updated, before you will be able to connect that new PC to Sync.

As a workaround, if one device can not be upgraded to F29 (e.g a corporate machine on ESR is involved ) it may in fact be possible to leave every thing registered with the old sync.

Re installing temporarily Firefox 28 and creating a profile with that registered with the old Sync then. Afterwards using that profile with Firefox 29 or 30 but NOT then upgrading to the new version of Sync.
