Moving TB to Windows 11 PC
I have read your explanation on how to move TB to another PC. BUT this explanation assumes there is an App Data folder on the new PC. In Windows 11, there is no App Data folder and there appears to be no Profiles folder.
I had a tech guy move TB to the new PC, and I can now get and receive emails there. He could also copy over my Sent and Address folders, but NOT my older emails or, more importantly, my Calendar. How do I get TB to run on a Windows 11 PC like it does on my old Windows 10?

My guess is your tech friend installed from Microsoft, which puts everything in new places and limits your ability to get support on the forum. The official download at thunderbird.net installs app to c:\program files and the profile to the ...appdata\roaming\thunderbird folder. If you can uninstall and reinstall, then the standard process of copying should work. and, just for a refresher, here are normal steps:

here is the info in brief steps:
- ensure thunderbird is NOT running on old machine
- enter %appdata% in search window on task bar and press Enter key
- this should open windows file explorer in Appdata\roaming folder
- highlight the Thunderbird folder and copy to external media
- ensure thunderbird is installed on second computer and NOT running
- enter %appdata% in search window on task bar and press Enter key
- you should be in Appdata\roaming folder , copy&paste the exported Thunderbird folder there. This may prompt to overwrite an existing folder of same name. allow it
- start thunderbird and all should be there
