I share my Sync account across 1 Android + 3 desktop devices (Win 10 or 11). So far no problems. A few days ago all the devices started dropping out of Sync.

I would say this all started with the Android device (v.153), which seems to have logged out of the account on its own. After reconnecting it, all the desktop devices went nuts...

1) desktop machines will need to reconnect to Mozilla account every time FF is launched 2) about:logins is always empty, even after logging back in and completing a sync routine 3) even when it states "Account disconnected" - "Sync is off", they will still receive tabs sent from the Android device; they can't send tabs as they won't see the other devices. Also, even while disconnected, they were able to add a new bookmark to the account. So, account is not actually fully disconnected... only some parts of Sync are.

Another symptom. Account's Connected Services list is clean and up to date (see images). Account recognizes new logins as already known hardware and avoids doubling them. But in Sync there's a mess of instances... all new attempts are seen as a new device. Many of these are of course dead links, as the latest login overwrites previous ones.

This happened while desktops were updating to v.154, but I wouldn't say it's related to that, as two of those machines also run a different Mozilla account on a second profile, and so far that account is not misbehaving.

The Android device also got disconnected a few more times, but now it seems more stable than its siblings, and the passwords are still accessible (as as you can see in the pics, it's not showing as a doubled Sync device).

I didn't try signing off all devices because I'm worried I won't be able to get back in... anyway, manually signing off a single one didn't change anything.

It seems to me this is a server-side issue. Is there a way to "refresh" the account without losing all data? Thank you

In support.mozilla.org/questions/1598971 it's still not clear how you're getting this. You seem to be posting this question from a perfectly running Firefox so it apparently starts up and works fine on its own.

It sounds it's related to your Windows desktop shortcuts, or their exact target perhaps — however without knowing their content (destination or commands run) there's not much more to do here.

If you have anything new to add to the questions in the thread above, please post in that original thread so anyone trying to help understands what this pertains to. I have two installations of Firefox on a desktop and a laptop. The first installation is pinned to the Windows toolbar and the 2nd installation has a shortcut pinned to Windows Start.

When I saw that the latest update of Firefox to 154 allowed changing icons, I changed the 2nd installation to a different Firefox icon (mini-fox with black background) so it was easy to see which installation to use when both were open.

The problem is the changed icon for the shortcut is wrong after shutting down the computers. I do not recall having this problem with the 1st installation or on my 2nd laptop where I only have one installation of Firefox.

I suspect this is just a glitch that will likely be fixed in a future update, but it is annoying to have to go through the process of changing the icon every time I startup a computer. If anyone has found a solution for this, I would very much appreciate your help.

I have to use Edge in order to edit my Etsy shop..I can still do everything else in Etsy with Firefox. this all changed after the last Firefox upgrade a couple days ago

i've downloaded firefox but it asks me everytime if i want to make it my default. i click yes and then the next time i open a tab it asks me a the same question again. when i open a tab yahoo always is the default. when i do a search for yahoo it shows up but the folder never comes up.

I'm the only User of my Firefox browser and I noticed Firefox stopped filling out logins automatically when browsing on the internet. I was unable to access my logins in the preference menu under "manage saved passwords" as the list was empty. At first I didn't understand why. It seems that I hadn't created a "Profile" and was still using Firefox with my main account and as such was unable to access any previously synced data of that nature (under the updated Firefox configuration) I have now created a Profile but I don't know how to sync with my main account's login data list... I have read that I can locate a Profile folder to load previous data, but I'd rather find the main account folder if that's even possible, because the Profile folder hasn't synced any logins if I understand correctly.

I recently had an issue where I accidentally closed Firefox in such a manner that it did not save my Tab Groups... Should that be possible?

I am trying to recall the steps to cause this to happen. At the time I had two Firefox windows open: one with all of my usual tabs, and one with a single tab open. I believe the steps were as follows...

1. Closed Firefox window with all of my usual tabs open
2. Closed Firefox window with the one tab open
3. Opened Firefox, and the session with one tab open came up
4. Closed that session
5. Opened Firefox again, one tab open
6. Checked the 'List all Tabs' - Recent tab groups, Show All - This was blank

I assumed that Tab Groups would survive sessions being closed like that like how Bookmarks do, am I wrong in that?

Last Friday August 21 2026 my Firefox was updated from version 153.0.4 to version 154.0. Ever since then i can't use any of the Azure functions needed to see dead-letters in our service bus explorer. When i try the same in edge or chrome i get a prompt to allow access to local device network. Firefox doesn't show the prompt. In my settings no websites are listed in the Permissions and data list. When i look at the site specific permissions (shield button -> show site information -> permissions) it is set to default prompt. Clearing cookies or accessing through a private window makes no difference. I need to give Azure access to local network otherwise it throws a web socket error whenever i try to peek at any of our service bus messages. Anyone any ideas?

When I download an update and restart firefox, it opens a https://www.firefox.com/en-US/whatsnew/ tab. I want it to not do this.

I would like to know why doesn't Firefox Desktop support using a different search engine for private windows? I have the option on my phone and tablet but its not supported on desktop. I just want to know if I can provide a suggestion to add this option about this. Thanks!

I'd like to subscribe and pay for Mozilla VPN on a PC and Android phone, but, don't want to initiate and pay for the subscription via Google Play. I'd rather manage the subscription for the service via a browser based interface on a PC, but, it seems like this is not currently possible. Is that the case?

I see someone else has already asked similary: Mozilla VPN availability on F-Droid would also be a plus.

Previously I'd click on STAR symbol (Edit this Bookmark) on Bookmark Toolbar, then under Location choose folder I wish, click Save and the new URL would go to that folder. Now it will not. I have to go to Recently Bookmarked and left click and drag it to the folder I wish. Above in Manage Bookmarks it is in there. Show Editor when Saving is checked. What settings do I need to change to return the the simple way of saving? Went to Trouble Shooting Page, Cleared the Cache, but too much lost if I refresh. don't understand Text or Raw Data. I only have a couple of apps, but what to do to save them?

I'm trying to add the world cup tracker to my home screen, but when i click the link, it just puts me in my new tab page with no changes. When I click the pencil edit icon, widgets are not an option for me. Is there a place I need to enable them?

Hi All,

I had several tab groups. I open and save and close them every day. but since yesterdayI cant find them at all. If I create a new tab group it appears but those old tab groups not! I've tested troubleshooting mode but noting.  

Firefox 154.0 (aarch64), macOS 26.6.2.

When I try to get to the SSA website it looks like my account is open but I can not sign out or in. It continues to give me this message. "Bad Request Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. Size of a request header field exceeds server limit."

I can sign in with another browser. I have used chrome or safari.

Can you help me out?
