Firefox's menu bars, background and text all change to black when I put my laptop on AC power.
My Firefox is completely fine on battery power. However, the minute I plug in my outlet power, most of everything blacks out short of the Mozilla Firefox window name. The text is still there because I can select it.

Does that change involve switch the graphics display card?
Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
- Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
