I downloaded Firefox 8 now my home page says I still need to update but when I do it tells me I already have the latest version

On your advice I downloaded Firefox 8. When I load the home page it still tells me to download the latest version. When I try to by clicking the "do it now" button I get a message that tells me I already have the latest version.
