Firefox 4 seems to have disabled the dotted outline when clicking a link. How can I re-enable it?

It's helpful to keep track of which page I last visited when the link is configured to not change color when the page has been visited.

Check some hidden preferences:

  1. Type about:config into the location bar and press enter
  2. Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
  3. In the filter box type browser.display.focus', this will bring up a small number of preferences
  4. If any of them have the status shown as "user set", right-click on the preference and choose Reset

Of those preferences, if browser.display.focus_ring_width is set to 0 it will hide the focus ring, you can double-click on it to change its value to an integer that specifies the width of the focus ring, default is 1.
